From November 2-9, ECJC President and CEO Joel Wiggins visited 15 incubator managers in Santiago, Chile and 30 innovators in Suwon City, Korea. In addition to one-on-one sessions, he delivered several presentations on what to look for in a technology innovation and how to prepare for equity financing.
This was part of a consulting opportunity with the IC2 Institute at The University of Texas at Austin where Dr. Wiggins used to work and still retains strong ties.
"In Chile I met with one incubator manager who is a graduate of MIT and heads a for-profit program
funded with nearly $4M USD from several investors," says Dr. Wiggins. "In Korea I spoke at a 7 year-old tech park with 6 buildings that house 2500 employees, an incubator, and an Executive MBA program. It was very impressive."
